The Recipe for Curiosity

When Alice fell down the cancer rabbit hole, she discovered that nothing worked quite the way she expected.

Cancer can feel like that too.

Suddenly, everything you've always believed is questioned. People disagree. One expert says one thing, another says the opposite. You begin to wonder who is right.

This guide isn't about telling you what to think.

Now, for the first time, that knowledge and experience have been brought together in one place.

About Us

Patricia Peat, founder of Cancer Options, the renowned international integrative cancer consultancy, brings you the culmination of more than 30 years of work supporting people affected by cancer.

Throughout her career, Patricia has watched integrative oncology grow from a little-known approach into an expanding international field. She has worked with thousands of people, explored emerging research and helped individuals make sense of conventional treatment, metabolic health, nutrition, exercise, emotional wellbeing and complementary support.

"I realise that what people need is not simply more information, but guidance to help them make sense of it. There is an overwhelming amount of information available now, but knowing what matters to you, what to prioritise, which questions to ask and which rabbit holes are worth exploring is much harder. I cannot sit with everyone personally, so Alice in Cancerland is my way of sharing with the wider public everything I would have wanted to say to every one of my clients: the knowledge I have gathered, the lessons they have taught me, the questions I wish people knew to ask and, above all, a way of finding direction when Cancerland feels confusing".

 Sue De Cesare

Sue ran the cancer charity Yes to Life for nearly 8 years having spent most of her career in the corporate sector. During that time she volunteered for Teenage Cancer Trust - her first foray into the world of cancer.  When she chose to move from her corporate career, it was an easy choice to move to the charity sector and in particular supporting people with cancer.  Having been brought up by a Mother who left things to nature and natural medicine, it was an easy decision when she was interviewed by Robin Daly.  She met Patricia during her time at Yes to Life and after having a break for a couple of years she met up with Patricia to help build a database - this lead to taking over the operational side Cancer Options and helping build Alice in Cancerland.
